As part of 6th-grade teacher Paul Devery's mission each year to teach his students what 'Citizenship in Action' looks like, he and other members of Hartford's Team Elf and Team Determination participated in the MS 150 City-to-Shore Bike Ride which took place earlier this month. This year the team raised $428 to find a cure for MS.
Team Elf was formed over 20 years ago to support Eileen Flynn who is a retired Social Studies supervisor for Mount Laurel Schools.
Some of the participants who were present to represent Mount Laurel Schools were retired Hartford Media Specialist, Shayne Russell who participated in her 19th ride, Hillside School teacher Carole Gallagher who was a rest stop volunteer, Hartford Science and Social Studies teacher Paul Devery who participated in his 18th ride this year, and Harrington 7th-grade student Ryan Devery who was a rookie rider in this year's event.
